Well, mission statements are dead in the way that most businesses use them...
Or better said, fail to use them.
Mission statements are far too often embossed on the walls, hung on frames, and brought out when someone does something that gets them into trouble.
Mission statements become either a stick for the up and coming team member trying to figure things out or they become a distant memory of something that the leadership team was once bought into.
I can hear the conversation, “Oh yeah, we made one of those… once.”
